Pikesocks

Kuva
Pikesocks made for my very own fisherman. After I saw this pattern on the magazine I thought this would great form my partner since he likes to fish. And I feel that pike is very common fish for Finns so the design was just perfect. Unfortunately the pattern can only be found in Finnish. I used DK weight yarn 75% wool, 25% yarn in three different colors: natural white , denim and green multicolor.   At the time I didn’t have much experience with multicolored knitting and it ended up to be so tight that he couldn’t get the on. In the end I did these three times over before the size was right. So this could have been way too difficult for my skill level, but I did learn a lot. Practice makes perfect, right? And I’m not afraid of any challenge so I will take on project that might be bit difficult in the future. Especially if I see a design that is too good to pass up. Also this is officially an U.F.O. turned into a F.O. Since it probably had bee

Cooler cozies for cans

Kuva
It was late winter when my brother asked me to make some cozies for cans to keep them cool especially during summer. After I finished a set for my brother I decided to make some for myself. And since the weather forecast is promising some very worm days for the next two weeks. And these are a good way of using some left over yarn. For example I used Regia’ Tweed Color 4fach first to make socks for mend then the bigger sized cozy. And I managed to use the whole skein. The other yarn I used was Alize Superwash 100 . More info on the Ravelry page. These cozies are pretty simple to make. I basically just started to crochet a spiral adding stiches until the base of cozy was the right size. Then I stopped adding stiches and just crochet until the height was right. I didn’t have any patterns for these cozies there was some frogging involved especially moving from the bottom to the side of the cozy. But as I made more cozies I got the hang of it and had to do less frogging.
