N7 Socks

N7 Socks Mass Effect… the game series that I’m very fond of. And I’m taking about the original trilogy (Oh Andromeda what a wasted potential). I was already familiar with Bioware’s games like Neverwinter Nights, and it was natural that at some point I would play those games. Between me and my partner, who actually introduced me to Bioware’s games, he is the bigger fan. Therefore I thought I would make him N7 socks since these are pretty simple to make. These socks are actually version number 2 since the first ones were a little bit too loose. So this time, I made more ribbing on the leg. Other than that the rest of the pattern is done like a basic wool sock. The N7 logo is sewn afterwards using duplicate stiches. Only thing that is left now is the test run, so will see how the sock perform and do I still need to do some “product development”. Jack Frost Mittens

So here it is! My very first pattern design: JackFrost Mittens . This has been up in my Ravelry page for a while, but now I finally wrote the pattern. The chart is made with Stich Fiddle . Jack Frost is a recurring character from Shin Megami Tensei franchise. I actually haven’t played that many SMT games (So far IV , Devil Survivor and also the crossover Tokyo Mirage Sessions ), but I have a stack of waiting and the fifth is coming (hopefully we get more info on E3). This is for DK weight yarn in blue, white and black. Also little bit of yellow yarn for the embroidered smiley is needed. I used Novita's Nalle for this project. I first started with 4 double pointed needles but the time the pattern of the back of the hand started I used one needle instead of 2. This is to not to have the line between the needles show up.   This is a little problem I have while knitting with double pointed needles. Of course this varies with yarns and techniques. Cooler cozies for cans

It was late winter when my brother asked me to make some cozies for cans to keep them cool especially during summer. After I finished a set for my brother I decided to make some for myself. And since the weather forecast is promising some very worm days for the next two weeks. And these are a good way of using some left over yarn. For example I used Regia’ Tweed Color 4fach first to make socks for mend then the bigger sized cozy. And I managed to use the whole skein. The other yarn I used was Alize Superwash 100 . More info on the Ravelry page. These cozies are pretty simple to make. I basically just started to crochet a spiral adding stiches until the base of cozy was the right size. Then I stopped adding stiches and just crochet until the height was right. I didn’t have any patterns for these cozies there was some frogging involved especially moving from the bottom to the side of the cozy. But as I made more cozies I got the hang of it and had to do less frogging. ...
